Our Team

Nancy is an attorney, a native Texan and the wife of Dr. Wood.  Nancy is a proud Longhorn, having received both her B.S. in Petroleum engineering and Law Degree from the University of Texas at Austin.   A Uvalde, TX native, Nancy has practiced both patent and intellectual property law at firms in Houston, TX and Charlotte, NC. Most recently, she was corporate counsel at Rackspace and currently works part-time in the Business Contracts Department at UTSA. When she’s not in the office, Nancy loves to spend time with her husband and twins as well as travel, cheer on the Texas Longhorns and read.

Grace leads our team as our office manager and as an expert in the field of medical insurance coding and billing.  Having worked with a large ophthalmology-optometry group practice for 16 years, Grace will use her expertise to assist our patients and staff in acquiring insurance authorizations for both routine and medical eye care, filing claims and appealing claims on behalf of our patients.  Grace has attended multiple workshops and training seminars on the new government policies concerning The Affordable Care Act, Health Care Exchanges and Meaningful Use and will continue to guide our doctors, staff and patients through the complex changes in our current health insurance system.  Grace is fluent in both English and Spanish and when not working in our office she enjoys spending time with her twin daughters.

Julian is the MacGyver of our practice. A highly skilled electronics expert, Julian has worked in both the optometric and home electronics industry for several years. Julian specializes in preliminary and specialty testing with our state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment including the Optomap Retinal Laser Camera, the Optivue Ocular Coherence Tomographer and the Zeiss Visual Field Analyzer. In addition to keeping our testing equipment, computer system and video surveillance system running, Julian manages our contact lens department including contact lens insertion and removal trainings, ordering of the contact lenses and managing our diagnostic contact lens and stock inventories. When not working, Julian enjoys spending time with his family and friends.
